In this Blog, I will be explaining my experience with helping clients with weight loss.
I have found that by stabilizing a client in the early stages in weight loss hypnotherapy first creates the foundations for positive change work! What do I mean by stabilizing?? Basically getting the baggage out! Perhaps backlog of negative (junk) that needs to leave the client to allow them to feel more empowered in the reality that they have the ability within themselves to continue on their own.
Once this has been achieved then positive suggestion for change can be more accepted with the subconscious mind, allowing the client to have more self-control! Every client is different and different approaches are best for different clients! After the first session the client may not notice the weight falling off straight away, but at this point, they may notice they have more self-control and self-esteem. (important for the change process)
Second session normally 3-7 days after first session, if the client has been stabilized enough to move to the next part of the therapy (Treatment) we then look at using techniques to help the client change, this usually consists of direct suggestion to eat better be mindful of what and when they eat, plus motivation to keep plugging away at the gym or exercise in general. Having such great results from clients with these techniques we have learned from HypnoTC and the NGH (National Guild of Hypnotherapists) most clients are feeling not only empowered and finding they are in control of what they are eating, but feeling great and happier in general.
The third session, again normally 3-7 days after, by now it can be a top up or anything else that needs tweaking or to help with stressful situations that the client feels are out of their control! And if so teach coping strategies to deal with these stressful situations. After having great feedback from many clients whose experiences have been so positive from fitting into old clothes they thought they would never fit into again to avoiding foods and walking away from chocolate bars and takeaways shops that before would be too irresistible to ignore! Sometimes clients after a few months return with other issues they may wish to resolve with hypnosis, once they have seen the true benefits of hypnotherapy.
Conclusion, if the client's conscious goals don't match the subconscious habits, then new change can be tricky! With hypnotherapy we get the conscious and subconscious working together, plus helping the client feel more empowered in themselves enabling them to feel in more control, this can create the platform for controlled change.
